What is Cholangiocarcinoma?

Cholangiocarcinoma...

A type of cancer that develops in the bile ducts of your digestive system. These small, thin tubes connect the liver to the gallbladder and small intestine. Their function is to carry the digestive fluid bile between these organs, eventually excreting them from the body. Cholangiocarcinoma is a very rare and consequently an extremely difficult tumor to treat.

Depending on the exact location within the bile ducts, medical professionals break cholangiocarcinoma into several different types.
