Colonel Robert J. Myers

In August of 2017...

life for us all in the Myers' family would never be the same. His family by his side, Colonel Robert J. Myers (US Army, Retired) was in for the fight of his life, as he was diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma (Bile Duct Cancer). As we expected, Col. Myers fought every step of the way. It was heartbreaking as we watched him struggle battling this disease. Just over 2 months after his diagnosis Col. Myers went to be with the Lord.

After weeks of reading articles on line both before and after his passing, talking to many doctors and nurses, and watching our hero go through it first hand, we learned the ugly truth about Cholangiocarcinoma. In most cases this cancer has a very poor prognosis if not found early. Unfortunately, there is still much to learn about this disease. More times than not, when symptoms of Cholangiocarcinoma are present, it's often in the advanced stages. 

The Colonel Foundation was created in loving memory of our hero. We are passionate about helping countless others fight this terrible disease by supporting the medical community in their quest towards early detection and finding a cure.
